The California Historical Society hosts yet another heavy hitter. This time, she’s an author with her book, Communists in Closets fresh off the presses. She’s here to talk this history of gay, lesbian, and non-heterosexual people who were pivotal in the Communist scene. Her name: Bettina Aptheker. She will be in conversation with Estelle Freedman, author and Professor Emerita at Stanford University. The focus of this conversation will be on the best type of Communists: the California Communist!
