Back in the good old Medieval days, books were chained to shelves because they were rare and costly. One such chained book found its way to Stanford Libraries collection, where it needed repair. The situation called for a team of experts across disciplines to come together to save the book and also construct a model of it for future use and study.
Linking the Past, Forging the Future: Conservation of a Medieval Chained Binding brings that team to light in a virtual discussion. Meet Kathleen Smith, Aude Gabory, and Karen Hanmer and see their creation at 11:00 a.m. on Feb. 18. Secure your tickets here!
