Valentine’s Day in Yerba Buena

Whether you are single or in a relationship, Valentine’s Day is coming. In my mind there are three choices on Valentines Day – fun loving, seriously romantic, or putting your game face on and getting out there. For those of you that are not sure yet which choice calls out to you, perhaps I can be of some assistance. There are several options in the neighborhood for all types, from the head over heels in love to the less romantically inclined.

For the traditionalists there are lots of options. Yerba Buena is home to some pretty swank hotels with excellent dining options and views. The Palace Hotel (2 Montgomery St.) is offering a five-course dinner, dancing, and music by the Kent Strand Band featuring the soulful vocals of Pamela Rose. Reservations are available from 6:30pm – 9:30pm. Or you could try The View at the Marriott  on 55 4th St. The View is on the 39th floor and it offers amazing views of the city. Maybe a spa package says love to you? The I-Spa at the Intercontinental is offering great deals on spa treatments, almost half off the regular price. So treat yourself!

For those out there who want to get creative, Valentines Day offers a chance to impress with home made declarations of love. SFMOMA has the cutest little competition happening on their Facebook page. Write a love letter to a work of art and get the chance to win fabulous prizes.  Originality is a plus. Check out their Facebook page for the details or email questions/your submission to [email protected].

And lastly for those of you looking for love, may I recommend Dave’s bar at 29 3rd St?  You can hang with friends or just enjoy the fun and charming atmosphere of the bar.  Dave’s is a place where all are welcome and the drinks are stiff and plentiful. This is where I’ll be Tuesday night meeting new friends. Hope to see you there.
