It’s back, baby!
The Children’s Creativity Museum reopens this weekend, on Saturday, Feb. 19, with quite the sparkle: an outdoor celebration infused with themes from their new exhibition, XOXO: An Exhibit About Love & Community. This spirited affair will frolic in the museum’s courtyard and grounds from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
In the party’s first phase (10:00 am to noon), The Mexican Museum joins forces with the CCM to present the live musical stylings of innovative songsmith Mónica María, as well as arts n’ crafts inspired by XOXO.
Beginn-
ing at 11:30, the party cranks up a notch, with free carousel rides on the iconic LeRoy King Carousel. (Can you say, weeeeeeeee!?) And — to make a cool event even cooler — shaved ice from the one and only Kona Ice.
If you plan to visit the museum and check out the groovy hype, it’s recommended that you reserve tickets in advance.
The party technically stops at 2:00, but the fun doesn’t: the museum is open until 4:00 pm, so cruise inside for an invigorating exploration of what it means to love.
XOXO: An Exhibit About Love & Community is designed to foster conversation and connection between visitors with interactive exhibits that encourage reflection and participation, like tying answers to questions about love and community to the Response Wall for others to read, or pressing written-down thoughts into Tokens of Love.
There is no age restriction at the CCM (we’re all kids at heart), but this exhibit is recommended for children ages 2 through 12.
